Know more about Kevin Ashe your Mayor of the City of Pickering
A resident of Pickering for the past 50 years – Kevin Ashe is a veteran politician. He inherited political acumen from his late father, George Ashe, who was elected as the first mayor of Pickering in 1973. Following his footsteps – Kevin became the fifth mayor of Pickering in the Ontario Municipal Elections, 2022.
Kevin’s political journey at the bigger stage began in 2003 when he was elected as City Councillor of Ward 1, Pickering. After having a successful first stint, the residents of Pickering showed immense faith in him. He was re-elected as a city councilor in 2010 and 2014.
Repeating his political success – in November 2015 – Kevin became the regional councilor of Ward 1, Pickering. He was re-elected in 2018.
Kevin believes in serving the people, especially in meeting the needs of the residents. He is currently sitting on the following committees:
With a strong inclination towards community development – Kevin tries his best to remain involved with the community. For this, he has served on the boards of the following organizations:
Additionally, Kevin is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise since 1988.
To enhance his political understanding – Kevin started his journey as a Trustee. He serves as the trustee of Durham Catholic District School Board from 1985 to 1997. Also, he was a board member of the Ontario Catholic School Trustees Association from 1991 to 1997.
